We're currently looking for first responders for coverage area. If you live in or near these areas, this is for you!
As a first responder, you will have the opportunity to provide crucial medical assistance and support during emergencies. From responding to car accidents and medical emergencies to providing support at community events, the work of a first responder is varied and rewarding.
But the benefits of becoming a first responder extend beyond the satisfaction of helping others. As a member of our team, you will receive training in life-saving techniques, such as CPR, first aid, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and have access to ongoing professional development opportunities. You will also become an integral part of a dedicated and supportive community of fellow first responders.
To become a member of Lakes Area Rescue, you need to meet some requirements, such as:

Be at least 18 years old

Live in or near Coverage Area (Within 10mins)

Have a valid driver’s license.

Pass a background check.

Complete an application and an interview.

Complete an EMSRB approved First Responder course or higher.

Attend quarterly meetings and trainings.

Respond to at least 10% of calls per year.
Member Levels\Types:
We offer three types of memberships for those who are at least 18 years old, have a valid Minnesota driver's license, can pass a background check, and complete our initial training program. Here's a quick overview:
Regular Membership: Ideal for those who live or work within our service area and can commit to being a full-time member. You'll need to be ready for a 6-month probation, adhere to training requirements, and participate in at least 10% of annual calls. We provide all the necessary equipment and training support to keep your certifications up to date.
Seasonal Membership: Perfect for individuals who can't commit year-round due to living outside the area part of the year. Similar requirements and benefits as regular members, but tailored for those with seasonal availability. You'll still need to meet training, call response, and meeting attendance expectations to maintain your membership.
Affiliated Membership: For those already serving in neighboring Fire and/or EMS departments but wish to assist with calls in our service areas. No equipment is provided, but you're welcome to join our training sessions and meetings. Maintain your primary department's good standing, and you can be a valuable part of our team.
